Here we go, it's the last game of the season! The giants at home should be an easy home victory. Hurts back at QB (please don't get hurt!), the Giants have nothing to play for, Dallas in the shadows, what could go wrong? Do I go to the dark side? My worst-case scenario is the Eagles losing, Hurts getting injured, and the Cowboys clinching the division!
The Eagles fall from first to fifth in the playoff position. And where do they wind up going? Tampa Bay! The dark clouds are forming, the wind is picking up, and the team lies destroyed on the field. Man, how easy it is to go there! All the joy I was experiencing after the last time the Eagles played the Giants has dissolved away. Barely getting by the Bears and then losing to the Cowboys and Saints have left me nervous. As I say all the time, "Smarty Jones." The Philly perpetual heartbreak!
I can't go there! First off, waiting for the late game is nerve-racking! If they're going to lose, I prefer to get my pain over early. Ok, stop that! Just remember to breathe! They are playing at home. They know how important this game is! The fans know it! Just play your game and it should be an easy victory! We get an extra week to heal and sit back while the other teams beat each other up. Yeah...we've got this one! The Giants aren't even playing their starters! I'm seeing an easy Eagles victory, Hurts being pulled in the third due to such a sizeable lead. At the same time, I'm flipping over to the Red Zone during commercials and watching Washington humiliating the Cowgirls! Oh, what a beautiful day! What a glorious end to the regular season! Home-field advantage during the entire playoffs!
There is only one thing to remember....breathe!
